1st Day of School

1st day of school is always the most exciting day in my calendar year. It is one of the joys of fatherhood. A day to look forward to. It started 7 years ago in 2003. On the day Amanda was left on her own at SK Subang Bestari. Being such a concerned (Amanda termed it 'paranoid')father I spent 3 consecutive days at that school. Get to know all the teachers better. Class teacher, Guru Penolong Kanan - HEM, Displin, KoKO and of course the Headmaster. I even made myself known to the guard and Canteen Operator. Don't leave anything out if you are concerned about your child safety. I was such a familiar face at that school. This must be one of the reasons why I was elected the school PTA Chairman. It is another story altogether and will make interesting reading.
Back to 1st day of school. I made it an annual habit to personally send my daughter to school. Carried her school bag and made sure she went to the right class and sat at the right sitting position. And listened to Headmaster speech during the assembly. The most notable point highlighted by the Headmaster/mistress was about the presence of parents in the school compound. Us 'concerned' parents had become a nuisance. A bit. But of course we didn't care. Talk about showing a good example to our children. How ironic. A "Ketam" definitely can't teach its 'Anak' to walk straight.
.... to be continued...

Rumbling

Free thing is a novelty these days. Most have a price tag. Either in cash or in kind. On delivery, deferred or long term schedule. Thank God Almighty it is still free to opine. Some lucky ones even get paid just to provide opinion.
I have this urge and was encouraged to opine for quite sometimes already. It has been years infact. Unfortunately, I was having this cronic sickness that prevented me from doing so - great laziness. The sickness has subsides a bit I guess. Hence this piece of rumble.
See ya.
